Heart stencils for Valentine's Day

Hi, this is Joelle Meijer. I will show you how to create a reusable stencil
for Valentine's Day. To create a stencil you will need a sheet
of heavy plastic or foam, scissors, paint, a stencil brush and paper. Depending on the effect you want to obtain, you can create a simple or more sophisticated
stencil.

First create the design you want and transfer
it onto the foam or plastic. Cut out the shapes in your drawing. Place the stencil on the paper on which you
want to paint. Use a stencil brush but do not use too much
paint to prevent smudging.

Apply the paint in the selected area of the
stencil in a vertical motion, going up and down. Use a pounding motion; do not make lateral
movements to prevent the paint from running under the
edge of the stencil. If you have several holes, you can use different
colors. When you have finished painting, remove the
stencil and reveal the painting.

You can always make corrections with cotton
swabs. Let the paint dry. To access the free educational document and
